Hanging on plasterboard
The first type of work that a beginner is usually faced with.
This theme, which seems very commonplace, nevertheless deserves attention because there are many possible solutions depending on the type of wall and the weight of the object to be hung (from the small 300g frame to the 300 kg water heater!) .
The size of the screw used depends on many factors: in general its diameter depends on the force to be supported and its length depends on the quality of the wall (take into account the useful length that will be in the wall to which the thickness is added. of the object to be fixed).
Also, under normal conditions (good wall) we will use 3 mm screws for light objects (frames), 4 for shelves, 5 for light kitchen furniture, 6 for heavy ... 16mm threaded rods for securing a heavy gate.
Loads up to 3 kg.
Fixing directly in the plate using dowels
rocking or expanding
Loads of 3 to 10 kg.
Expansion anchor.
Loads up to 30 kg per attachment point.
Bathroom cabinets. Showcase, shelf, curtain rod, electric convectors ... Fixing directly in the plate using expansion plugs or toggle.
Note: minimum spacing between fixing points: 40 cm radius.
Toggle dowel, used for light fixings in hollow walls. Ideal for ceiling mountings. Lighting track fixings, suspension in hollow materials.
Metal expansion anchor.
Anchors for light loads. Direct screwing
in the plaster partitions. Can also be used in plaster tiles with pre-drilling
Placostil partitions
Fixing of sanitary facilities.
( Suspended WC ) by incorporating a
sanitary support
Kitchen furniture, radiators, sinks, toilets ...
Fixing on wooden sleepers or on uprights
( placostil ) positioned in the core of the partition.
Rail
Rail
In an already assembled partition,
cut out one of the facings of the
partition and fix wooden reinforcements or
metal (by screwing or interlocking) on
the frame of the partition (the reinforcements
must be suitable for the load)
For a large water heater, a full height board in the top and bottom rail about 15 cm x 2.5 thick, or an upright on each side of the board placed on the ground
Alveolar partitions
Loads greater than 30 kg on vertical walls
If the reinforcements were not provided during assembly, seal a wooden part
in the panel: cut an opening (200x 120 mm) on one side of the
partition. Clear the network from the partition
Fill with adhesive mortar
(MAP). Lard with nails a
piece of wood (180 x 80 mm).
Rotate the part and seal
with adhesive mortar (map)
Treat the joint around the edges
