Placostil single partition
Rail
BENEFITS
For new or old sites.
Low load on the floors.
Integration of pipelines.
Elimination of the risk of cracking.
Amount
The structure of the metal stud partition consists of top and bottom rails
between which are arranged vertical uprights. Plasterboards are
then screwed onto this framework with (25, 35 or 45mm) screws.
This technique allows partitions to be made almost to measure. By varying
the thickness of the plates (13,15 or 18mm) and especially their number, whether or not integrating
an insulator, all performance levels can be achieved on the acoustic level
as much as thermal.

FEATURE
Thickness of the finished partition 72mm. Weight 25kg / m².
Fire protection: 1/2 hour fire protection
The choice, thickness and type of plates depend on the nature of the structure: in the absence of specific indication, the plates
used are of standard quality (BA13), uprights (M48), 45mm glass wool.
FEATURE
Thickness of the finished partition 98mm. Weight 51kg / m².
fire protection: 1 hour fire protection
Acoustics: double partition (two BA 13s on each side, 48mm upright) with 45mm 47 dB glass wool.
Impact resistance
For individual accommodation and in the common areas of accommodation
collectives or certain offices (case A of the DTU), a partition with single facing
BA13 or BA15 is suitable. In the other rooms (case B of the DTU), the partition must be composed either of a single BA18 facing, or of two BA13 or BA15 facings.
Vertical laser or plumb line
Trace on the floor and on the ceiling with the chalk line,
the location of the bulkhead.
The rails must be fixed to the ground (except at the locations of the frames),
Ceiling by mechanical fixing (screw, plug) every 50 to 60cm.
The framework is formed by a network of vertical uprights
arranged parallel to the 40 or 60cm center distance.
Acoustic insulating tape (resilient foam), is placed on the rail and mounted around walls and partitions.
Secure the starter uprights to the vertical walls.
Fit the uprights, cut to height, into the rails.
Mark the position of the uprights on the floor and on the ceiling.
These marks will be useful to you when screwing the plates.
The amounts are adjusted closer to the ceiling height
between top and bottom rail: they are cut to a shorter length
about 5 mm.
Amounts
Cut the plates at the ceiling height minus 1cm.
The plates are mounted contiguously to the ceiling to facilitate
further processing of the joint. The clearance required for assembly is left in
low part
Screw the first plate cut to 0.60 x 2.50, fix the upright to the axis at the end of 0.60 "the clear side must be on the visible side" place the insulation and the electric cables if necessary.
Finally, close the partition with a full plate 1.20 x 2.50.
It is recalled that the vertical joints must be offset for rigidity and sound.

Nested uprights (boxer)
Uprights nested one inside the other, examples to reinforce the end of the partition and a glass roof.
On the uprights there is a wing smaller than the other to facilitate nesting.
Boxer uprights
Recognizable by their pointed shape and black color, screws are quite resistant.

Splitting joints (breaking) are planned: in line with the structural work expansion joints, every 25 linear meters or 300 m² in the case of large structures.
Do not try to pack the glass wool in the partitions because its sound resistance decreases when it is compressed.
Amount 48, 45mm wool and not 50, 60 ........
Cellular foams that are too rigid and certain too dense mineral wools should therefore be avoided for this use.
