The NF DTU are standards which specify the technical conditions for the proper execution of works. They are voluntary and intended to be incorporated into works contracts. The NF DTUs are the result of a consensus between the interested parties: contractors, project owners, manufacturers, suppliers, project managers, architects, inspection offices ... They are considered by experts and the courts as the written expression of the rules of the art. These standards are mostly developed or revised in the Standardization Commissions, most of which are led by the FFB's trade unions and unions.
